  • Indian Lake State Park: Nestled on the shores of majestic Indian Lake, this park provides a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Pitch a tent at the campground, cast a line in the lake’s pristine waters teeming with fish, or simply relax and observe the diverse wildlife that calls the park home. (Rated 4.7 stars on Google Maps)
  • Palms Book State Park: Home to the iconic Kitch-iti-kipi, the “Big Spring” of the Upper Peninsula, this park is a must-visit. Take a glass-bottom raft tour over the spring’s crystal-clear waters and marvel at the vibrant underwater world. With a picnic area and gift shop on-site, Palms Book State Park is perfect for a leisurely afternoon. (Highly rated on Google Maps with 4.8 stars)
  • Tahquamenon Falls State Park: Witness the grandeur of Tahquamenon Falls, the second-largest waterfall east of the Mississippi River! Hike to the Upper Falls for a breathtaking view of the cascading waters, or take a boat tour to the Lower Falls for a unique perspective. Explore the park’s diverse trails, go kayaking or canoeing on the Tahquamenon River, or simply relax and soak in the majesty of the falls. (Highly rated on Google Maps)
  • Seney National Wildlife Refuge: This isn’t a State Park, but a US Fish and Wildlife Service property. It’s a haven for birdwatchers with over 200 species of birds. They have a 10-mile scenic drive that winds through forests, meadows, and marshes, which is a great way to see wildlife. They also have hiking trails and a fishing loop. Keep in mind that the visitor center, Marshland Wildlife Drive and Fishing Loop are closed until May 15th, 2024 for renovations. (A visitor favorite with a 4.8 star rating on Google Maps)
